Artist Obsession: Bahamas

I first discovered the band Bahamas a few years back when they performed on MTV Live. I downloaded Already Yours and Hockey Teeth and listened to them non-stop after their performance, but they kind of fell off my radar a bit.


Fast forward to a few months ago when their new single Lost in the Light was the iTunes Song of the Week. I re-kindled my love for this band and bought their new album Barchords! 

I know I keep referring to them as a band, but the main member is Afie Jurvanen. He's the one who writes all of their folk-y love songs. His sound actually reminds me of a more high-pitched and canadian Elvis Presley because of the array of love songs he writes.

I love the summery vibes I get from the songs on this album and can't wait to listen to it while on vacation in a few months!
