Product Review: Revlon Matte Lipsticks

These Revlon lipsticks are a hit & miss for me!

From left to right: Nude Attitude, Really Red, Wine Not

I really love the look of matte lips because they look very chic, don't make your lips feel sticky, and matte formulas  tend to last longer on your lips.
From left to right: Nude Attitude, Really Red, Wine Not
The first of the three lipsticks I purchased was Nude Attitude. I was drawn to this colour because I had never own a nude lipstick before and wanted to see if it suited me. Also, if you look really closely to the lipstick in the tube, it has a slight pearlescent sheen which I thought was gorgeous.

However, on my lips it looks far too pale and milky. I'm quite fair, so I can't see this working for any other skin tones. It also showcases all of the cracks and imperfections on my lips, so I guess you could say it turned me off of nude lipsticks!

I feel that a classic matte red lipstick looks timeless, so that's why I purchased Really Red. This is my absolute favourite of the three, and by far my most treasured red lipstick. It glides on your lips like a dream, and looks classic and beautiful.

The last shade that I purchased recently was Wine Not. It caught my attention when I saw Jenn of Clothes Encounters wearing it in one of her videos. It looked beautiful on her; like a vampy red-purple. When I try to apply it like a lipstick, it comes up uneven on my lips with some sheer patches and some opaque. I then took to applying it lightly onto my lips and it gives a lovely stain-like effect!

I really love that the tubes have a clear cap so you can tell them apart!

A quick tip: With these lipsticks, you have to apply a lip balm to condition your lips, but make sure that there is no remaining residue. If there is, the product won't apply evenly and will look streaky.

Overall, I do recommend the last two lipsticks. If you are interested in purchasing one, make sure the colour compliments your skin tone.

Do you prefer matte or glossy lips?
